The Infinigate Group the leading technology platform and trusted advisor in Cybersecurity, Cloud and Network Infrastructure – and Threema – a pioneer and global market leader in secure communication solutions – have entered a strategic distribution agreement to expand the reach of their enterprise-grade solutions across Europe. The agreement covers Threema Work (SaaS) and Threema OnPrem (on premises), initially targeting Switzerland and Eastern Europe, with potential plans for broader European deployment later this year.

Secure Communication for modern enterprises and public institutions: Threema Work and Threema OnPrem

Threema Work is a secure communication platform hosted in Switzerland, purpose-built to deliver robust data protection, privacy, and regulatory compliance. It ensures complete data ownership supported by consistent end-to-end encryption and robust administrative controls. This empowers organisations to define and enforce strict security policies, including full configuration of user permissions, which is ideal for “bring your own device” (BYOD) environments.

Threema OnPrem extends this offering to organisations requiring complete infrastructure control, such as public institutions, national security agencies, and critical infrastructure providers. By hosting Threema’s secure communications solution within their own servers, these institutions gain unparalleled sovereignty over sensitive data. Furthermore, Threema OnPrem can also be white labelled.

Currently trusted by more than 8,000 organisations, Threema’s secure communication suite is widely adopted as a compliant and reliable alternative to consumer-grade messaging tools. It complements collaboration platforms and plays a key role in business continuity and regulatory adherence, supporting frameworks such as NIS2, DORA, and GDPR, which not only raise the bar for compliance, but actively reshaping how organisations manage risk across all digital communications. Threema has been recognised as a “Market Leader” by Forrester in their “Secure Communications Solutions, Q3 2024” report.

Proactive Security: Prevention Is Better – and More Cost-Effective – Than Reaction

Across Europe, cyberattacks are rising at an alarming rate. More than 90% of successful attacks begin with a malicious phishing email. Consumer messaging apps, particularly WhatsApp, have become the primary vector for malware and fraud-related attacks. In this context, securing internal corporate communication is no longer optional – it’s a foundational step in any serious cybersecurity strategy. Organisations must ensure that sensitive information is transmitted via secure, auditable, and policy-controlled channels.

A Timely Solution Amid Evolving Threats and Regulations

According to the PwC 2025 Global Digital Trust Insights report, over 77% of business leaders plan to increase their cybersecurity budgets in the coming year.

Martin Sedó, Partner Manager at Threema, commented: “With Infinigate, we gain a powerful and experienced distribution partner to deepen our reach across Europe and support local channel partners with trusted, enterprise-grade solutions. As phishing remains the top attack vector, secure communication is more critical than ever. This partnership marks an important strategic milestone in our mission to protect organisations with best-in-class, compliance-ready solutions.

With the addition of Threema to our portfolio, we bolster important building blocks of cybersecurity, driving digitalisation and strengthening data protection. We are delighted to offer our channel partners top rated solutions that are in high demand,” said Denis Ferrand-Ajchenbaum, Chief Growth Officer of the Infinigate Group.
