Giesecke & Devrient (G&D) demonstrates a market leading subscription management solution that supports the GSMA ‘Embedded SIM’ Specification at the GSMA Mobile 360 Series Event in Dubai. This “next generation” G&D solution offers more flexibility through the use of a full SIM profile download, and supports more customer use cases for remote subscription management, cost-effectively enabling even more connected devices in an increasingly connected world.
Building on the successful first commercial deployments of G&D subscription management with pioneering mobile operators, G&D announces a SmartTrust AirOn V2 solution that leverages the real world experience from years of commercial deployments and trials. AirOn V2 not only supports the GSMA Specification but includes features such as an “Easy to Use” API already integrated to multiple control platforms, advanced retry methods to maximize the successful switching of subscriptions in a variety of devices, and support for the use of a second source eUICC vendor.

We offered our first commercial solution in 2012 to meet early market demands using partial SIM profile download, and now launch our next generation solution with full profile download that supports the GSMA Embedded SIM Specification” said Carsten Ahrens, Group Senior Vice President, Head of Telecommunication Industries division at Giesecke & Devrient. “We are proud to be selected by the GSMA to demonstrate our commercially available and market leading solution in Dubai as part of the GSMA “Connected Living” Program.”

G&D offers the mobile industry a wide range of secure Embedded SIM products in all form factors and the trusted managed services to both download a new SIM profile and to remotely manage profiles on the SIM cards. SmartTrust AirOn V2 also provides “backwards compatible” managed services to continue to manage already deployed AirOn V1 SIM cards so providing an easy upgrade route to the additional flexibility offered by the GSMA’s Embedded SIM Specification.
